The end of Cyberpunk 2077 still makes me so damn sad.

I’ll be sitting here and think about V hanging around a campfire with Judy, Panam, and the rest of the Aldecaldos while making jokes and she turns to look for Johnny’s reaction— only, he isn’t there. She pauses for a moment, confused on why he chose to not show up this time, and then it hits again, that he won’t. That he can’t.

She sees a piece of Johnny in the stars, in the flecks of dust spat up by the flames. She hears his husky voice in the howls of the night wind. He may not be there, but she attempts to manifest him anyway, in every way she can.

It feels like a phantom pain; having him was like muscle memory.
