I think that it’s fun how, despite being a sci fi setting, Night City is still filled with folklore, religion and spirituality. Takemura talking about the bakeneko and other Japanese yokai, how prominent the tarot motifes are, the entire “Losing My Religion” sidequest, the two monks you can meet, the shrine and dreamcatcher you can hang in V’s room…

I think it’s not a coincidence that the first two characters you meet in the story, after the prologues, are Misty and Viktor, who are an owner of an esoterica shop and a ripperdoc, respectively. They’re also very good friends, further establishing that in this universe, spirituality and technology exist beside eachother with no conflict.
